Impact of 1991's liberalizations on economy-A Puppet Show (5)

Liberalization is praised most of the time for bringing new technologies in India. But the reality is something different. Selective technologies came to India of lesser importance with higher prices. Launch of these technologies in India came at the highest circulation as of the population and purchasing power of the individuals but quality of the products launched were of third category which made India the dumping ground of technological gadgets.

When the world is using 10th generations of bikes India is using BSA IV generation technology. The dumping is not confined to a certain sector or area most of the products sold in India are of third category.

The norms for consumers are so degraded that nobody can complain about these products and wide spread awareness is another aspect of this cheating through liberalization process.

The liberalization not only brought products to Indian shores for masses but higher technology in advanced areas such as defense also purchased weapons of low categories. The vicious circle which started in 1991 brought a tremendous change in corruption scenario as people were forced to be a market of billion individuals.

All the government since 1991 focused on only one thing either to increase the purchasing power of individuals or make them spend their saved money in market.

Now this vicious circle is making a billion people bleed profusely as no government is strengthening the savings of individuals but making it difficult for them to purchase more. Norms of banks, institutes, policies all are heading towards a certain goal of making the market run the country's show.
